Only in Texas :)

Friday was Go Texan Day-the Friday before the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo starts! Everyone all over Houston-and I mean everyone-dresses up in cowboy clothes and does all kinds of cowboy types of activities to kick off the rodeo. Craig dressed up in his cowboy best for work, and Charlie's doctor was even dressed up when we went to his appointment :) In our ward, that also means the Annual Chili Cookoff-Craig's most favorite ward activity all year. Where else will you find over twenty crock pots full of chili along with all of the fritos, cheese, and cornbread you can handle?! For anyone interested, here is a link to read more about Go Texan Day-it's pretty awesome :) http://www.rodeohouston.com/events/go-texan.aspx

Hand-Mouth Coordination

Charlie has recently discovered his hands, and now he loves to put them in his mouth. Sometimes when he's eating, he gets so frustrated because he can't figure out why he can't have the bottle AND his hands in his mouth at the same time!

Here he is in action. I think he's trying to one-up his mom by attempting to shove both fists in his mouth!

Tubby Time!

This is Charlie's first bath in the big bath tub-he loves his baths now!

Hangin' with Daddy on the bed :)

Charlie is getting so long!

A lady in our ward recently gave us a big bag of clothes for Charlie, and this was one of the little sleepers we got-it totally glows in the dark!

Our little monkey :)

Are you talking to ME?!

I have yet to get one of his best smiles on camera, but this one is pretty darn cute :)

Tough Little Guy

I put Charlie in his gym the other day, and then I left the room for a couple of minutes. I heard him fussing, and when I came back he had pulled the bar of his gym down on top of himself-he wasn't too happy about that!

Firsts

First smile caught on camera :)
(It came from my phone, so it's a little grainy.)

First time to wear shorts :)

He was wearing this the first time he shot spit-up out of his nose. Which then lead to the first time he has ever screeched the way he did when that happened. Yeah.

The first successful wearing of his cute overalls-he didn't like them very much, and it took him three times of wearing them for about 10-15 minutes each to finally wear them all day :)

His first mohawk-with what little hair is left on top of his head :)

Whoops...

I forgot to put this picture up with the rest from when Craig's family came...whoops! It's too good of a picture to leave off :)

The Good Stuff :)

Here are the flavors of Blue Bell that we got while Craig's family was here. I think that Craig could live on Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough :) We also got Butter Crunch and Krazy Kookie Dough (a new flavor), which is cake batter flavored ice cream with sugar cookie dough chunks-all in bright neon colors and very tasty! There is another new flavor...

...called Rocky Mountain Road. It is chocolate ice cream with a marshmallow swirl, roasted walnuts, and chocolate covered almonds, peanuts, and pecans. The reason I gave it its own picture is because of what is written on the side: "We created this flavor to commemorate our entry into Colorful Colorado in 2011 and to honor its magnificent Rocky Mountain scenery." They're getting closer and closer to Utah!!

A Visit from the Godfreys

Charlie loved taking naps with Grandpa Godfrey :)

On Monday we went down to NASA. Here is Charlie all bundled up and ready for the Tram Tour!

Hanging out after we got home from NASA.

While Craig's family was here, we introduced them to Texas barbecue and Blue Bell ice cream-they loved them both! We also went down to the Galleria and showed them the Houston Temple.

Blessing Day

Craig's family came down this past weekend and we blessed Charlie. His little outfit looked so cute on him!

Craig's dad, mom and sister, Camille.

Squirmy Worm

I just thought these jammies were way cute, so I had to include a picture.

Here is a little video of Charlie doing his thing in his gym :) And yes, that is the MoTab in the background...and the shower running... :)
