First Library Books

Charlie and I love to go to the library. Usually he just sits in his stroller while I do my thing, but this time that we went, I decided it was time for him to experience the kids' section. They have little tables and a giant stuffed horse that Charlie loves. They also have board books in this little shelf, and Charlie loves to look at them and pick ones to check out.

Charlie's first library books :)

Fun Times

Charlie is constantly trying to put his shorts on by himself-this time he pretty much got one leg on by himself!

Charlie is a sippy cup boy. He loves having one in each hand :)

Charlie has discovered a love of smoothies-he pretty much drank half of mine! And yeah, there are three straws. One for each of Charlie's hands before he stuck them in the smoothie, and one for me :)

Anything that even closely resembles a cell phone is a cell phone to Charlie. He puts it up to his face-in this picture it's my Kindle-and proceeds to have a conversation-it is so funny!

It's popsicle time!

Craig was throwing a ball into a small box that I was holding, and Charlie was cracking up!

Charlie loves bouncing in his crib-we are definitely going to have to get him a trampoline one day!

Going to the Park

Charlie loves playing outside. We took him to the park a couple of weeks ago, and he found a hill that he loved running up and down. The first time he started running down the hill, we thought for sure he'd turf it, but he actually kept his balance the whole way down-he must get that from his daddy :)

I started waving at him when he'd get to the bottom, so he started waving back :)

The post-Grandma Blues

The day after my mom left, I got Charlie up and asked him if he had a good time with Grandma. He pointed into the living room and looked at me like, "Is Grandma in there?" It was really cute :)

When he was eating lunch that day, he suddenly laid his head on the table and looked so sad! I figured he was just suffering from post-Grandma blues :)

Grandma!!

My mom came to visit the second weekend in April to see Charlie and to go to the Bluebonnet Festival! We had a great time going to The Container Store, eating Blue Bell, kolaches, and Rudy's barbecue, and spending some time at The Woodlands Mall.

Charlie loved The Container Store-he is truly related to my mom!

This was my mom's secret to getting Charlie to warm up to her-chocolate!

What a nice little boy-sharing his slobbery chocolate with Grandma :)

Chocolate mouth!

We got this delicious lemonade at the Bluebonnet Festival, and Charlie loved it!

He pretty much drank half of my lemonade-and it was big!

Lunch time!

There are these funny ladies that perform clogging every year at the festival-they're really good!

Happy (late) Easter!!

This was Charlie's first Easter Egg Hunt. He picked the eggs out himself at HEB (they're smaller than regular ones) and we filled them each with either two jelly beans or a goldfish cracker.

Charlie got really excited when we got him up and took him out to the living room. He ran to his basket and started picking his eggs up and holding them up to me to help him open them.

He, of course, ate them all as fast as he could pick them up :)

That evening, we went over to some friends' house for dinner. They gave us another bag of clothes for Charlie that included this sweet Spidey costume!

Birthday!

So, I know my birthday was a month ago, but I'm finally putting pictures up from it! Craig gave me the very best birthday present ever-he surprised me after he had left for work by actually going and buying flowers and chocolate and coming straight back home to spend the day with me! We drove up to Brenham to see the wild flowers and to have a picnic. It was a little chilly, but we had a lot of fun :)

Charlie loves giant sticks...

He also loves birds-that's what he's pointing at.
